The East African Currency Board, 20 florins, 1 May 1920, black serial number A/1 33505, dark red and blue on multicolour underprint, George V at top centre, value in white underprint at centre and in dark blue at left and right, three printed signatures of Mercer, Bottomley and Ezechiel at low right, reverse lion at low centre, (Pick 11a, TBB B205a), in PMG holder 55 about uncirculated, previously mounted. A truly splendid banknote with fresh original paper and the bonus of a very low serial number. Unparalleled as an example of the banknote printer's skills, a handsome and excessively rare note, possibly only one of two or three examples extant today. Important.
