Thrace, Sestus. Caracalla. A.D. 198-217. AE 18 (17.91 mm, 3.89 g, 1 h). AVT M ANTONINOC, laureate, draped and cuirassed young bust of Caracalla right, seen from behind / CHC - TIΩN, Apollo standing facing, head left, holding bird and branch. Cf. Gitbud & Naumann 34, lot 559; otherwise apparently unpublished. Rough VF, rough olive patina. very rare.

a very similar but somewhat larger piece from Sestus with a mature portrait of Caracalla is known, no available references mention this smaller type with a far younger portrait - not sure if he's Caesar or Augustus on this issue
