(x) Anglo-Egyptian Banking Corporation Limited, specimen 10 shillings, 1 October 1886, serial number 0001-1000, brown, depicting Grand Master La Valette at left, reverse, value at centre, perforated B.W&Co LONDON at low right, (Pick S101s), in PMG holder 66 EPQ gem uncirculated, light pencil annotation 'Dec 1886'. The bank was established in 1827 with branches in Egypt and the Mediterranean. In 1921, the Barclays bank became its largest shareholder, and subsequently was merged with other banks to become Barclays (Dominion, Colonial & Overseas).
