Bust of the Virgin orans within the city walls with six towers; sigla K/Δ / Christ standing facing, crowning Andronicus II to left and Michael IX to right; IC - XC. SB 2396. DOC 254. Near Extremely Fine; rich red-gold tone; short striking crack at 12'; clipped; crisp and lustrous; well centered; unusually strong and even strike around periphery where there is often doubling. Particularly nice for issue.
