ENGLISH HAMMERED COINS. Other properties. William I (1066-1087), Penny, Bonnet type (c.1068-1070), Ielfsie of London mint, facing bust crowned and diademed, legend commences lower left, +WILLEMVS REX, rev voided cross with annulet centre, pellet between two crescents at each terminal, pile with pellet on each angle, all within beaded inner circle, +IELFSIG ON LVNDNE, 1.02g (N 842; S 1251). Dark mottled tone, tiny section of edge loss on the obverse at 2 o'clock, otherwise extremely fine with a clear portrait.
