Henry VIII, Gold Angel, first coinage, St Michael with both feet on dragon, tail touches left wing tip in field, right wing tip touches wire line circle, initial mark H over castle with saltire each side of tower (1509-1513) both sides, hENRICV.I.I.I?DI`GRA`REXAGLZFR' , rev ship sailing right, bowsprit crosses rope only, h touches rope, squarer smaller rudder, PERCRVCE`TVA `SALVA nOS XPE`REDE`, 5.06g (cf Schneider 559; N 1760; S 2265). Toned, weak on high points, very fine with some specks of dirt, the H over castle may represent Henry's marriage to Catherine of Aragon.
