Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Gold Angel, first to fourth issues, St Michael slaying dragon, large wings, tail and head touch wing tips, beaded circle, initial mark cross crosslet (1 January 1561 - 31 August 1565) both sides, ELIZABETH.D'.G'.ANG'.FR'ET.HIB'.REGINA., rev ship sailing right, bowsprit crosses both ropes and terminates in field, beaded circle, A.DNO'. FACTVM EST ISTVD:ET.EST.MIRABI'., 5.08g (cf Schneider 733; N 1979; S 2514). Lightly cracked with creasing, otherwise toned, very fine and rare.
