George III (1760-1820), Pattern Silver Farthing, 1798, small laureate and draped bust right, K on shoulder, three berries in wreath, brooch of seven jewels, legend incuse on raised rim, GEORGIUS III.D:G.REX., date on raised rim below, rev Britannia seated left, SOHO in raised letters on rock to right, waves below, BRITANNIA. above, 1. FARTHING. below, ornament either side, edge plain (Peck 1210; cf S 3777). Old and pleasing cabinet tone, as struck with full mint lustre, extremely rare, one of only 3 examples known.
