Richard III (1483-1485), Groat, London mint, facing crowned bust within tressure of nine arcs, fleurs on six cusps, initial mark boar's head type 2 with elongated jaw both sides, legend reads RICARD, rev long cross fourchée upon twin concentric legends, trefoil of pellets in each angle, 3.13g (N 1679; S 2156). Attractive even cabinet tone, a little clashing of dies and tiny hairline mark to cheek, otherwise bold very fine and rare.
