Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Silver Crown, initial mark 1 (1601), elaborate crowned bust left, holding orb and sceptre which points to I, four fingers on handle, rev quartered shield of arms on cross fourchée, 29.80g (Cooper dies C/4; N 2012; S 2582). Tiny hairline scratch from neck to ruff, struck on a broad flan and free of the usual striations on the obverse, a few small striations on the reverse, attractive even tone, practically extremely fine and a very pleasing example.
