Commonwealth, Gold Unite, 1651, English shield within laurel and palm branch, initial mark sun, THE COMMONWEALTH OF ENGLAND, pellet stops in legend, rev English and Irish shield, value and pellets above within beaded circle, date above, GOD WITH VS, outer beaded circle both sides, 9.03g (Schneider 339; N 2715; S 3208). Struck on broad flan with a light weakness under the Irish harp and striations on English cross, one red spot each side, otherwise extremely fine and pleasing.
