Anne, Gold Guinea, 1709, elephant and castle below second draped bust left, legend and toothed border surrounding, rev Post Union crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, edge obliquely grained (MCE 221; S 3573). Some black haymarking on the reverse, a few flecks on the obverse, attractive red tone, otherwise very fine with a good face, the reverse slightly stronger, very rare.
