SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Emesa. Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Tetradrachm (24.5mm, 14.88 g, 12h). Officina A. Struck circa AD 215-217. Laureate head right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Shamash left; A beneath eagle's head. Prieur 954A (this coin). Lightly toned, some porosity, a few small deposits. VF. Extremely rare, one noted by Prieur, and none in CoinArchives.
