IMP PHILIPPVS AVG, radiate, draped and cuirassed bust right / SAECVLVM NOVVM, hexastyle temple; in center, statue of Roma left, holding scepter. RIC IV –; Bland Study 52; RSC –. Lightly toned, a few minor flan flaws on obverse, hairline flan crack. EF. Very rare. Bland knew of only two examples.

In Dr. Bland's List for PHILIP I and Family: Emperor of Rome AD 244 - 249 he wrote "Initially, there was some debate whether or not this specimen was from Antioch or Rome. All of the experts now agree that it is indeed a rare Antioch issue with the short obverse legend."
