---

Provenance: DNW Auction 119, 4-5 December 2013, lot 2329; bt A. Bryant March 2014.

It is now believed that class XXII coins in the name of Edward with mm. halved sun and rose were struck under Edward IV, Edward V, and possibly also during the first month of the reign of Richard III. Groat dies of this obverse variety, with unbarred as and without the pellet below the bust, are sometimes found with mm. boar's head punched over the sun and rose, suggesting that they could be the latest dies of the class (cf. Stewartby pp. 376-82).
