KINGS OF ARMENIA MINOR. Mithradates, Satrap of Armenia, circa 180s-170s BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 17 mm, 5.92 g, 9 h). 𐡌𐡕𐡓𐡃𐡕 ('mtrdt' in Aramaic) Draped bust of Mithradates to left, wearing upright bashlyk. Rev. 𐡌𐡕𐡓𐡃𐡕 ('mtrdt' in Aramaic) Stag standing right. Kovacs 296 corr. (legends not noted due to poor condition). Of the highest rarity, apparently the second and by far the best known example. The obverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.
From an important collection of Armenian coins.
