C. Antius C.f. Restio, 47 BC. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.92 g, 5 h), Rome. DEI PENATES Jugate diademed heads of the Dei Penates to right. Rev. C•ANTIVS•C•F Hercules, nude but for lion skin draped over his left arm, walking right, holding club in his right hand and trophy in his left. Babelon (Antia) 2. Crawford 455/2b. RBW 1594. Sydenham 971. Rare and in exceptional condition for the issue. Lustrous, lightly toned, and undoubtedly among the finest known. Virtually as struck.
