ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 411-340 BC. Didrachm (Silver, 17 mm, 6.92 g, 7 h). Bearded head of Dionysos to right, wearing wreath of ivy and fruit. Rev. ΘAΣION Herakles, wearing lion skin, kneeling right and shooting his bow; before, club; behind his head, monogram; all within linear square. BMC 39. Jameson 2024 (same dies). SNG Copenhagen -. West 46. Rare and beautifully toned. A few light old marks, otherwise, very fine.
