Constantius II (337-361). AV Solidus, Nicomedia mint, 340-350 AD. D/ FL IVL CONSTANTIVS PERP AVG. Pearl and rosette-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right. R/ GLORIA REIPVBLICAE. Roma and Constantinopolis enthroned, holding between them a shield inscribed VOT/XX/MVLT/XXX; Constantinopolis holding sceptre and resting right foot on prow and Roma holding spear; in exergue, SMNT. RIC 33 (R3). AV. g. 4.57 mm. 21.50 RR. Very rare. Brilliant and superb, underlying luster. Good EF.
