This coin of Constantius II as Caesar was been incorrectly struck with a reverse die intended for the bronze coinage of his father Constantine I, as is evidenced by the reverse legend which should read PROVIDENTIAE CAESS. Instead, we have PROVIDENTIAE AVGG, meaning Providentiae duorum Augustorum - [Dedicated to] the foresight of the two emperors.
