A Single Hellenistic Gold Pendant Earring. Late 3rd-2nd century BC. A bowl-shaped disk adorned with a decorative wire border forms the fixed upper section of the piece, from which a central flower consisting of gold sheet cut into individual petals and wire detailing emerges; below hangs the figure of winged Eros striding forward, with a cloak draped around his shoulders and arms, carrying a ritual offering plate and unlit torch.
Condition as seen; this wonderful piece is in a stunning state of preservation with excellent detail remaining.
From the inventory of a German dealer.
