Iron "armada" (Nuremburg) chest, 1600s-1700s. Approx. 100 lb, 32-1/2" x 17" x 16". A typical German-made strongbox for a castle or manor-house, with false lock in front and functional lock (with original key) on top, C-shaped handles of twisted iron on either side of the exterior, straps and loops in front for additional locks, missing small side box inside, original dark and patinated condition. (Special packing fees apply; pick up in person recommended.) With lot tag from Phillips auction "Z0009" (date unknown), lot #151.
