Mexico City, Mexico, cob 4 escudos, Charles II, assayer L, NGC MS 62, finest known in NGC census. S-M29. 13.30 grams. Remarkable as the only certified MS Charles II 4E, as this early type is typically found from the 1715 Fleet with at least some wear, this specimen instead with lustrous surfaces and choice full shield and much legend (including king's ordinal II), clear oXML and denomination IIII, full but doubled cross of the type known to have embedded "jewels" (dimples).
