Obverse with standing mother holding baby and with one standing child on each side above cornucopia to left and flower on stem to right within legend LA PATRIA AL Y. DEFENSOR DE SU INDEPA.; reverse with bare head of Belzu above clouds and wreath inside legend M.Y. BELZU PRESID. CONSTITUCIONAL. with Potosi monogram and date 1854 at bottom; diagonally reeded edge. Bold strike, spotty toning, no luster, minimal high-point wear. (Slab label references Fonrobert 9590 [gold 1 scudo] in error.) Pedigreed to the Cotoca Collection.
