Costa Rica, 1/2 real, "lion" countermark (Type VI, 1849-57) trial strike (one on each side) on a blank copper token flan, unique. 3.80 grams. Fully detailed AU countermarks on a blank host that appears to show circulation after countermarking (but probably not as a 1/2 real), first example we have ever seen or heard of, no doubt of serious interest to a Costa Rican specialist.
