TETRICUS I, A.D. 271-274. AE Antoninianus (5.75 gms), Colonia Agrippinensis Mint, A.D. 274. NEARLY VERY FINE.
Cf. RIC-127 (for normal weight). Obverse: Radiate and cuirassed bust right; Reverse: Salus standing left, leaning upon anchor and feeding serpent rising from altar to left. Lighter brown surfaces, with some roughness on the reverse. Struck on a thick, double weight flan. The meaning of these abnormal weight flans is still not entirely certain, though they are rather RARE. An interesting piece from this Romano-Gallic emperor.

Estimate: $125.00- $175.00
