GREAT BRITAIN. Gilt-Bronze Board of Agriculture Medal, 1793. Struck at the Soho Mint, by: C.H. Kuchler. Fec. George III. PCGS SPECIMEN-65 Gold Shield.
48 mm. Eimer-853. Laureate bust of George III right, legend around within solid boarder, two-line inscription on banner below, all within wreath; Reverse: Female figure standing right holding spade entwined with a serpent; beyond, plough in a landscape, blank ribbon above, "VOTED" in exergue with space for a date. Edge inscription: "STRUCK IN THE MINT OF M. BOULTON (SOHO)". A beautifully struck example with intricate frosty cameo devices and reflective fields. With original protective copper clamshell holder.

According to Eimer these medal began being issued circa 1800 in gold and silver in thirty-one categories including substitute leather for shoes, instruments for husbandry, irrigation and ameliorating condition of the laboring poor.
