URUGUAY. 20 Centesimos, 1843/0. Montevideo Mint. Republic. PCGS MS-63 Brown Gold Shield.
KM-2.2; Antunez-3.2.1. Thin planchet/coin alignment. SCARCE in any grade, these imposingly large copper pieces become incredibly hard to obtain above Extra Fine levels. The present example, graded Choice Uncirculated, is tied for second finest at PCGS. A pleasing umber brown in color, it does retain hints of mint red around some design elements. The surfaces are incredibly clean and smooth for the issue with almost no marks or blemishes of any sort.
