Coins - Sweden - Viking Age
Penning, LQ type, c. 1020 - 1030, probably Sigtuna, Malmer 325.1228 (die chain 36), SCBI Cop. 1631f., 1.62 g, wavy flan. A good specimen of the uncommon and attractive Long cross/Quatrefoil type, which is part of the large and important chain 136. The chain has a late date and it's attribution to Lund or Sigtuna is still discussed, but Malmer 1997 and especially Malmer 2010 present most arguments for Sigtuna e.g. the relative high avarage weight and the find distribution.
