Obv: COS VI, Bust laureate r. with fold of cloak on front shoulder and behind neck. Rx: VIA TRAIANA in exergue, SPQR OPTIMO PRINCIPI around, Via Traiana reclining l., head r., holding wheel supported on her knee and branch. Ex Harmer Rooke stock, with their tag. The reverse type commemorates Trajan's construction at his own cost of a highway from Beneventum to Brundisium, starting at a triumphal arch in Beneventum which is still standing today.Planchet defect in obverse field at 4:00.
