Fabricius, who was poor, turns down a bribe from the king stating that he wished to keep his poverty and his reputation, that he had no need of money for himself and that he had no reason to envy the rich/King Pyrrhus receives a letter from Fabricius, telling him of the treachery of his physician who in confidence offered to poison the King.
