Sweden, Karl XI SM 276 2 daler plate money 1674 Avesta. 3049 g. Struck with copper from Garpenberg. Minor corrosion. The centre stamp clearly shows one of the two lilies that identifies the plate as Garpenberg. This example is struck to the weight standard of 1666 (1.579 kg per daler) that was replaced on 20th of February 1674 (1.360 kg per daler). Tingstrom lists six recorded examples of Garpenberg this date; but this example is believed to be unique with the higher weight. A very rare addition to any plate money collection!
