Honorius AV Solidus. Constantinople, AD 463-465. D N HONORIVS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust facing slightly right, holding spear and shield / CONCORDIA AVGG, Concordia seated right, holding sceptre and Victory on globe, foot on prow; CONOB in exergue. RIC 8; Depeyrot 55/2. 4.47g, 21mm, 12h.

Good Very Fine. Very Rare.

From a private American collection;
Acquired from Ariadne Galleries Inc., New York.

The present coin bears no officina letter following the reverse legend as is usually seen, an occurrence Depeyrot noted only four times. The small number of examples he saw is in stark contrast to each of the officina that were striking this issue, for which he noted examples averaging in the twenties.
