Philip IV (1621-1665), 4 reales, Mexico mint, 1654 P, 4 of date over 3; the coin double-struck and with denomination reading 8, 12.86g (Cal. type 147; cf no. 710), significant striking flaws, about very fine and interesting. Possibly struck firstly - in error - from 8 reales dies and then overstruck. The date is unusually clear and appears almost as '16534'. Ex La Maravilla shipwreck and of good fabric.
