USA 1906 (CO HK-336) SC Dollar, NGC Graded AU 55, displaying a wonderful patina and full of eye appeal. Issued to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the discovery (sighting) of the eponymous mountain by Lt. Zebulon Montgomery Pike during his Southwest expedition, 1806-1807, following the Louisiana Purchase. Designed by Charles Barber. The official mintage was a mere 250 specimens in silver.
