Roman Provincial Coinage, Severus Alexander, medallion, Byzantium, radiate bust left, wearing paludamentum and shield on left shoulder, carrying spear in hidden right hand, rev. Emperor radiate and in military attire riding right on horseback, holding transverse spear, h countermark in rev. field, 36mm, 29.56g/7h (Königliche Berlin 100, this coin; Schönert-Geiss, Byzantion II, no. 1739, footnote 1, this coin cited; Hunterian I, 31, same dies). Well-centred with dark patina, file-marks on edge, otherwise very fine and rare £500-£700
