"Thomas Jefferson Indian Peace" bronze Medal 1801-Dated (Post 1861) MS61 Brown NGC, Julian-IP-3. 75mm. Struck from the original dies by Robert Scot, with the period distant from TH. Chief Coiner A. Louden Snowden reported the dies were cracked in 1863 and they were replaced with new dies by Charles Barber in 1886. This mahogany-brown Select specimen shows the long die crack on the reverse from the hand to the rim, along with a depressed planchet flaw near the rim at two o'clock on the reverse.
