Phrygia, Cibyra AR Cistophoric Tetradrachm. Circa 166-84 BC. Helmeted and draped bust of Ares right within circular dotted border / Cavalryman on horseback galloping right, holding couched lance and shield; A and bull butting right in upper left field, TPO MO ΔΑ above ΚΙΒΥΡΑΤΩΝ below. Cf. BMC Phrygia 1-5 (similar types, different controls and magistrates). 11.98g, 30mm, 1h.
Previously graded by NGC XF Strike 5/5, Surface 1/5. Small section of the edge broken and repaired (visible from 2-3h on rev.), otherwise good metal, lustrous and lightly toned. Extremely Rare.
