Valens AV Solidus. Arelate, AD 366. D N VALENS P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right / RESTITVTOR REIPVBLICAE, emperor in military attire standing facing, head right, holding Victory on globe and labarum, with palm on shaft and pellet above, inscribed with Christogram; star in left field, KONSTAN (partially ligate) in exergue. RIC 1c; Depeyrot 15/2 (same dies as illustration on pl. 6). 4.44g, 21mm, 12h.

Near Mint State; minor bump to cheek on obv., slight scrape to shin on rev., muted lustre.

From further finds of a scattered hoard found in West Norfolk, Sunday 1st July 2018 - Monday 9th July 2018. Submitted for consideration as Treasure, and returned to the finders. PAS ID: NMS-488B7B.
