A Valentinian III AV Tremissis set in a gold pendant. Uncertain mint, circa AD 425-455. Possibly imitative. D Λ VΛLENTINIΛNVS I I ΛV(sic), pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed bust right / Cross within wreath with jewel at apex; XIIX inscribed at base of wreath, COMO[B] in exergue. Cf. RIC 2060-1 (Rome or Ravenna); cf. Depeyrot 21/1. 22.18g (total weight), 51mm x 41mm, 7h (coin die-axis).

Condition as seen. The rear clasp, inscribed Rugerru(?), is detachable so that the reverse of the coin can be viewed. Included is a loose fragment of the pendant.
