Diva Faustina Senior. Wife of Antoninus Pius. Died A.D. 140/141. Æ as. 11.75 gm. 26 mm. Rome mint. Struck under Antoninus Pius, circa A.D. 141-146. Her draped bust right, hair bound with pearls and coiled on top of her head; DIVA AVGVSTA FAVSTINA / Providentia standing left, holding globe and scepter; AETERNITAS S C. RIC III 1163a (Antoninus Pius). Very Fine; pleasing glossy green patina; some rubbing on high points; a few old corrosion spots on obverse, now repatinated red. The obverse presents a lovely medallic effect.
