Arcadius. AD 383-408. Æ (23mm, 5.19 g, 6h). Thessalonica mint, 3rd officina. Struck 383-384. Pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right, holding spear forward; above, manus Dei holding diadem / Emperor standing left on galley, head right; to right, Victory at helm; (wreath)-//•TESΓ. RIC IX –, but cf. 44a-b (for similar issues of Valentinian and Theodosius; LRBC –, but cf. 1836-7 (same). Dark green patina, some porosity. VF. An unrecorded issue for Arcadius, none in CoinArchives.
