India, Shosheni city state. Ca. 2nd century B.C. Æ coin (12 mm, 1.43 g). Brahmi legend Shosheniye arranged clockwise / Crescent. Not listed in any catalog. A pleasing specimen with complete details. Very rare and important coin.
This rare type was earlier misattributed to Kausambi. However, the legend Shosheniye indicates it was issued by a hitherto unknown city in northern India called Shosheni.
