India, Imperial Cholas. Raja Raja. Ca. A.D. 985-1014. Æ kahavanu (19 mm, 4.14 g). King seated right, holding up a lotus; Devanagari legend Raja/ Raja to right / King standing facing, holding up a lotus, flanked by lamp and orbs. MNI 730.

This type was introduced during the Chola occupation of Ceylon, c. 1007-1014 AD.
