India, Vijayanagar empire. Bukkaraya. ruled 1356-1377. AR half tara (6 mm, 0.16 g). Warrior running to right with hands spread / Blank. cf. Mitchiner, Coinage and History of Southern India, Part I, 545-549 (full tara). Rare and choice.

These coins were issued in the western imperial provinces in the name of Bukka Raya while he was ruling jointly with his elder brother Harihara I from 1344 to 1356. An attractive specimen of this tiny denomination. The half tara denomination is not recorded by Mitchiner.
