Nero, 54-68. Aureus (Gold, 19 mm, 7.27 g, 7 h), indian mule imitation with an obverse of Nero combined with a reverse of Vespasian, late 1st - early 2nd century AD. NERO CAESAR AVG IMP Bare head of Nero to right. Rev. COS IIII Cornucopia. For the prototypes: for the obverse, cf. Nero RIC 21-42 (dated 60-64); and for the reverse, cf. Vespasian RIC 918 (dated 76-77). An interesting mule. Pierced twice in antiquity to be attached to a loop and restored since 2018, otherwise, good fine.
