KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Stater (Gold, 20 mm, 8.56 g, 1 h), Salamis, 332-323. Head of Athena to right, wearing Corinthian helmet adorned with serpent. Rev. AΛEΞANΔPOY Nike standing to left, holding wreath in her right hand and stylis in her left; at her feet to left, eagle standing to left. Price 3125. Troxell, 31 (dies 17/-[unlisted reverse die]). Lustrous and attractive. A few scuffs on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
