James I (1603-25), Double-Crown, second coinage, 4.91g, 8h, m.m. coronet over grapes/coronet, fourth crowned and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned square topped shield dividing i-r (cf. Schneider II, 34; N.2087; S.2622; cf. Spink 238, lot 1241), light scratches behind head, otherwise an even round striking, almost very fine, the overstruck countermark not in the Schneider collection, rare thus.
