Wessex, Aethelred I (865-871), Penny, group II, Lunettes 'A', South Eastern, Ella, 1.03g, 7h, + aedelred r-ex, diademed and draped bust right, rev. mon |+ella :•:|eta in three lines (Lyons & Mackay [2007], 'Wessex Regular', variety ii/3, dies B/c, Ae2.60a this coin; N.622; S.1055), chipped in two places, but with a dark tone reminiscent of the Trewhiddle hoard, otherwise very fine, and an extremely rare moneyer for Aethelred, being one of only three recorded.
