Silver Chamberlain's Key from the Court of Nicholas II (1894-1917). By Dmitri Osipov. Length: 7 inches. Head of the key composed of the Imperial Eagle, shield on its breast with the cipher of Nicholas II. Ribbed, fluted stem ending in a ball, a curling garland superimposed, the key bit done as an openwork mystic knot with a stencil cross at the center. Silver. Maker's mark Д.O and kokoshnik "84*" on back of stem. Four loops on back of eagle for suspension. Chamberlain keys from the Nicholas II period are Extremely Rare. Attractive rich gray patina over some friction marks on back. Otherwise Choice; an Impressive piece
